CSA Heavy Duty Liquid-tight Flexible Metal Conduit and Fittings

T&B Liquidtight Systems® - Fittings and Conduits

Check out our article on the new HD certification requirements in the latest issue of Electrical Line magazine.

The Canadian Electrical Code stipulates that liquid-tight flexible metal conduit and connectors used in hazardous location applications (Class I, Division 2; Class II; Class III or Zones 2, 20, 21, 22) be marked Heavy Duty as per applicable CSA standard.

The T&B Liquidtight Systems offering now includes a full range of liquid-tight flexible metal conduits and connectors that meets the CSA Heavy Duty certification.

  • Tension: Tested to 500 lbf - 66% greater force applied versus standard CSA and UL testing.
  • Cold Flexibility: Placed in a freezer for 4 hours, 300% longer cold exposure and then wrapped around a smaller mandrel with a 30-37% tighter bend radius.
  • Connector Compatibility: Pulling force of 350 lbf – 133% greater force applied versus UL testing.
  • Crush – Excellent crush strength: Meets the same tough standards as UL, 1,500 – 2,000 lbf - depending on conduit diameter.

Below conduits have passed the rigorous testing requirements of CSA Standard C22.2 No.56-17 Annex A "Heavy Duty” and can now be used in Hazardous location applications.

Similarly, T&B Liquidtight fittings have passed the rigorous testing requirements of CSA Standard C22.2 No.18.3-12 Annex D "Heavy Duty” and can be used in conjunction with above conduits for a full Heavy Duty solution.
