Marrette
The brand name Marrette® and wire connectors have been interchangeable since Bill Marr, working in his Toronto workshop, revolutionized the way conductors were connected with the invention of the first pressure-type wire connector in 1914.
This was the forerunner to today’s twist-on wire connector and the Marrette brand of wire connectors went on dominate the market, becoming synonymous with the product category. Even today, it is not uncommon to hear people refer to a twist on wire connector as a marrette.
Acquired by Thomas & Betts in 1997, Marrette wire connectors remain a Canadian industry standard to this day. All our twist-on Marrette wire connectors, including the most recent PRO-BLU wire connector, are designed and manufactured in Canada at our plant in Pointe-Claire, Quebec.
